People of tamilnadu and people all around India knows a lot about saravana stores in Chennai.
This saravana stores is located at Ranganathan street Chennai which is the most happening street.Ranganathan street is one of the worlds busiest streets having more than 200 shops...hmm Everything was going great with saravana stores which has more than 6 different section of stores until Monday morning SEPTEMBER 1 2008 .It was around 5.30 in the morning huge fire broke out in saravana stores 1st floor ,workers rushed out of the shop.Fire engines were called but huge problem fire people faced was the street being very narrow so it was difficult to take in the fire engines and some how they managed to get fire engines in to the street.They started to fight against the fire around 7 in the morning it went on till 12 in the noon.
After 5 hours fire fighters were successful in putting the fire off.Hats off to those brave hearts we salute you brave people(fire service people).At last police investigated the whole incident and have measured the loss of property which was more than 1 crore.Now they have informed public that 2 have died.
This gory incident occurred and its gods grace that there were less causalities as we know the fact that shops in ranganathan streets are build in very congested areas. Things would have been very gory if the fire went on around 11 in the morning.
